Exploratory study about the recent occupational mobility into Região Metropolitana de Porto Alegre

Abstract

It is identified the occupational transference and mobility into formal job market of Região Metropolitana de Porto Alegre (Porto Alegre metropolitan area), of young and adult workers, in the period between 2003 and 2006. Using RAISMIGRA data, it is verified the return from the original occupation and this enables to qualify the transference in low, middle or high. Additionally, the occupational mobility is qualified in ascendant or descendant, based in the elaboration of a quality index. Between results, it is evidenced, from both young and adult workers, the predominance of high occupational transference and the supremacy of descendant mobility.
