Searching for a theoretical renewal of regional integration studies: questions and debates
Abstract
Abstract Integration is understood by the articulation of micro, meso and macroeconomic levels. It is supported by a systemic and dialectical relationship of a) the emerging needs of accumulation process of social capital and individual capitals (and not exclusively by the dynamics of the latter), and b) concreted by its political, social and institutional validation. So, this linearity disappears and is substituted by the reawakening of the historical reconstruction. This path needs interpreting the concrete forms of articulation of the many spatial levels and supposes that these levels may have a short temporal effectiveness. Nevertheless, the choice of developing models have to make compatible the articulation of national spaces based on objective agendas that give to the integration process specific targets and scopes.
