Abstract

ABSTRACT This article examines the key aspects of Plano Brasil Sem Miséria, created in 2011, to eradicate the poverty in Brazil and analyses the Programa Bolsa Familia in Brazil and Rio Grande do Sul. The Programa Bolsa Familia (PBF) has registered considerable progress, improving the number of beneficiary families, as well as the volume of transfers to these families. In order to receive the benefit the family must attend a number of conditions of education, health and social assistance. It was found that almost all the beneficiaries comply with the required minimum school attendance (85%) for children and youth. The monitoring of health had an increase in recent years but it is still lower than that of education. Key Words: Plano Brasil sem Miséria; Cash Transfer; Programa Bolsa Família.
