Mercados de trabalho nas aglomerações urbanas não metropolitanas do RS

Abstract

This paper presents an exploratory and preliminary study about the labor markets configuration in the institutionalized urban agglomerations of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, except the Greater Porto Alegre Metropolitan Area (RMPA): the Northeastern Urban Agglomeration (AUNE), the Southern Urban Agglomeration (AUSUL) and the North Coast Agglomeration (AULINORT). The analysis, despite being preliminary and very synthetic, it brings interesting data about the social-economic profile in these areas, showing some convergent and some different aspects between the three urban agglomerates, that can help to evaluate the heuristic meaning of the agglomerate category and the importance of its legitimization by the government.
