Uma análise da severidade do desemprego no Estado do Rio Grande do Sul
Resumo
Este artigo utiliza dados da Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra de Domicílios (PNAD) 2013 e um modelo Probit com o intuito de investigar os determinantes da severidade do desemprego no Rio Grande do Sul, isto é, quais fatores aumentam as chances de que os residentes nesse estado passem mais de um ano desempregados. Os resultados mostram uma maior incidência da severidade do desemprego para indivíduos do gênero feminino, com idade entre 15 e 26 anos e analfabetos. Os cenários probabilísticos mostram que, com apenas 0,6% de chance, o indivíduo com menor probabilidade de permanecer desempregado por mais de um ano é homem entre 46 e 65 anos e com ensino médio completo ou em andamento. Por outro lado, o indivíduo com a maior chance de ficar desempregado é a mulher entre 15 e 26 anos e analfabeta, que apresenta 70% de probabilidade.

The results show an increased incidence of the severity of unemployment among females aged between 15 and 26 and illiterate. The probabilistic scenarios show that the individuals with the least probability (only 0.6%) of being unemployed for more than a year are male, aged between 46 and 65 and attending high school or with a high school diploma. On the other hand, the individuals with the highest probability (70%) of being unemployed are female, aged between 15 and 26 and illiterate.
