O objetivo deste texto é analisar o desempenho do mercado de trabalho da Região Metropolitana de Porto Alegre nos primeiros cinco meses de 2014, tendo por base os dados da Pesquisa de Emprego e Desemprego na Região Metropolitana de Porto Alegre (PED-RMPA). Para tanto, são utilizadas as seguintes variáveis: ocupação, desemprego e rendimentos do trabalho. Com base nas informações citadas, busca-se apreender os movimentos do mercado de trabalho em um contexto de arrefecimento do nível de atividade da economia do Rio Grande do Sul.

Abstract
This paper intends to analyze the labor market performance in the Metropolitan Area of Porto Alegre in the first five months of 2013, using the data from the Employment and Unemployment Survey (PED-RMPA). The following variables are used: occupation, unemployment and labor earnings. With these variables we try to understand the labor market dynamics in a context of low growth in the level of economic activity in the state of Rio Grande do Sul.
