Mercado de trabalho da Região Metropolitana de Porto Alegre em 2013: modesto desempenho do nível ocupacional mostrou-se compatível com a redução do desemprego

RESUMO
O objetivo do artigo é analisar o desempenho do mercado de trabalho da Região Metropolitana de Porto Alegre (RMPA) em 2013, utilizando como principal fonte empírica a Pesquisa de Emprego e Desemprego na RMPA (PED-RMPA). Em um contexto de recuperação econômica no Rio Grande do Sul, em 2013, o mercado de trabalho da RMPA apresentou modesta capacidade de geração de oportunidades ocupacionais. Todavia, esta não interrompeu o processo de queda do desemprego, que atingiu, ao final do ano, os menores patamares da série histórica da PED-RMPA. Isso foi possível pelo fato de que o ritmo de crescimento da força de trabalho metropolitana vem passando por uma redução considerável, atenuando a necessidade de ampliação da geração de novas oportunidades de trabalho. No que diz respeito aos rendimentos do trabalho, estes evidenciaram desempenho positivo em 2013.

ABSTRACT
The objective of this paper is to analyze the performance of the labor market in the Metropolitan Area of Porto Alegre (RMPA) in 2013, using as the main empirical source the Employment and Unemployment Survey in the RMPA (PED-RMPA). In a context of economic recovery in Rio Grande do Sul in 2013, the labor market of the RMPA had modest capacity to generate employment opportunities. However, this did not stop the process of unemployment reduction, which has reached, by the end of the year, the lowest levels of the historical series of PED-RMPA. This was made possible by the fact that the growth rate of the metropolitan labor force has been undergoing a considerable reduction, mitigating the need for expansion of generation of new job opportunities. With regard to labor earnings, these showed positive performance in 2013
