Desempenho das indústrias brasileira e gaúcha em 2014

Resumen

Resumo O presente artigo analisa a evolução da atividade produtiva industrial, em 2014, no Brasil e no Rio Grande do Sul, a partir dos dados da Pesquisa Industrial Mensal de Produção Física (PIM-PF), calculados pelo Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE). O texto procura lançar luz sobre os fatores determinantes para o fraco desempenho da indústria naquele ano. Além das questões estruturais já amplamente conhecidas, pesaram, em 2014, uma série de fatores conjunturais. O que se observa é que a queda foi generalizada entre os segmentos da indústria de transformação tanto no Brasil como no Rio Grande do Sul. Este último, por ter registrado um crescimento expressivo no ano anterior e por apresentar uma relação comercial mais estreita com a Argentina, apresentou queda marginalmente superior, explicada, sobretudo, pelo segmento de veículos automotores. TÍTULO EM INGLÊS Industrial performance in Brazil and in the State of Rio Grande do Sul in 2014 Abstract This paper analyzes the evolution of the industrial productive activity in Brazil and in the State of Rio Grande do Sul in 2014, based on data from the Monthly Industrial Survey on Physical Production (PIM-PF), calculated by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). The article aims to shed light on the determinants of the weak performance of the industry in that year. Besides the widely known structural issues, a number of conjunctural factors were relevant for the industry results in 2014. The results show that the downfall was widespread among the segments of the manufacturing industry in Brazil and in Rio Grande do Sul. The latter, for having shown an expressive growth in the previous year and for having a closer commercial relationship with Argentina, displayed a slightly worse downfall, explained mainly by the motor vehicles industry.
