Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this paper is to analyze the performance of the labor market in the metropolitan area of Porto Alegre in 2012, based on data from the Employment and Unemployment Survey (PED-RMPA). For this purpose occupation, unemployment and labor earnings variables are used. Based on the information mentioned above, we search to apprehend the movements of the labor market in a context of retraction of Rio Grande do Sul economic activity level.
