External insertion and profile of foreing trade: a comparison between China and Latin America since the 1980

ABSTRACT This article compares the evolution of the foreign trade of China and that from Latin America since the 1980s. Chinese share in the world GDP and foreign trade increased since the 80s, while Latin America share decreased. The conclusion also highlight that Chinese exportations have been showing an increasing participation of high technology products, while the exportation of Brazil, Argentina and Chile have been showing a process of reprimarization.
