Trajetórias do emprego Formal no Rio Grande do Sul em 2011: uma análise a partir dos dados da RAIS e do Caged

Abstract

Abstract This paper analyzes the behavior of the formal labor market of Rio Grande do Sul in 2011, using the Ministry of Labor and Employment’s database. The approach includes a comparison with the national aggregate and the opening of employment data both by sector of economic activity and by region of the State (Coredes). Due to a restriction on the information available (the latter data was referring to October 2011 when this paper was issued), a seasonal adjustment based on monthly data series of ten years was performed. This procedure revealed a sharp contrast between the seasonal pattern of labor markets in Brazil and the State of Rio Grande do Sul. Key words: Formal employment; Seasonality; Caged.
