Abstract

ABSTRACT This paper addresses the implications of the implementation of the Social Security System, its progress and deviations from the path charted by the 1988 Constitution, as well as its form of financing. Analyzes the General Regime of Social Security as part of this system, their forms of internal and external funding, coverage, its relationship to the labor market, with its benefit plans and the demographic issue. It shows that the General Regime of Social Security, characterized as a mixture of the Beveridgean and Bismarckian models, is balanced in the short term, however in the long term appropriate changes will be needed.
