Abstract

ABSTRACT This essay presents and evaluates the limitations and challenges facing funding for primary, secondary, and professional education presented by the potential that Brazil has of achieving universal access to primary and secondary education and expanding professional education. The article gathers information and arguments that demonstrate the need for more resources in order to guarantee the availability of high quality public primary, secondary, and professional education. Finally, the paper also highlights challenges associated to the unequal funding capability of different public spheres, to the extension of public professional education availability, and to overcoming the precariousness of its articulation and organization.
