Saneamento básico: a política do governo do RS (2003 a 2007)

Abstract

This paper is aimed at investigating the policies of sanitation established by the Government of Rio Grande do Sul, the southernmost state in Brazil, between 2003 e 2007. The paper presents the programs, the projects the government actions and the form of public financing of the sector. It´s analyze the phase which is marked by the establishment of the state system of sanitation, by sanitation services infrastructure investments, generations of recourses by Company sanitation to invest and limiting the access to credit as well. Finally, the paper also takes account of the projects of sanitation set up by the Plan of Acceleration of the Growth of the Federal Government in the Rio Grande do Sul from 2007 onwards.
