O Beneficiário do Programa Bolsa Família em Porto Alegre: perfis educacional e ocupacional

Abstract

The article presents the profile of Bolsa Familia Program beneficiaries in Porto Alegre, using the data of the Cadastro Unico, a unified information system and registry, highlighting their educational and occupational profile. The analysis revealed that the educational profile of the beneficiaries responsible for the household is very low, and 67.3% have not even completed elementary school. The occupational profile showed that only 5.7% are employed, protected by labor laws, while 34.9% are self-employed without social security and 50.5% declared that they were not working. These last includes the retired and those who have precarious and irregular jobs, without social protection.
