Ovine and caprine milk agribusiness

Abstract

The article presents the outlines of a nascent manufacturing sector in Brazil and very poorly described and analyzed, the sheep and goat milk. Identifies the current pattern of competition among institutional environment itself to the segment - an unusual procedure in studies of animal husbandry and processing of dairy sheep and goats - and the chances for passing the same strategies in the industry. There is a relatively low supply of sheep and goat milk in total milk production in Brazil and prospects for growth in cheese consumption to stimulate its increase. In addition, it is estimated the potential supply of sheep milk in the South, West Frontier and Campaign regions of Rio Grande do Sul. Key words: ovine; caprine; milk.
