A inserção do Brasil no comércio internacional de agrotóxicos — 2000-07

Abstract

This work aims to put Brazil on the flow of pesticides international trade in the period between 2000 and 2007. First the profile of the global market for pesticides is tracked and are presented the numbers of Brazilian and world production of major crops in which growth employing such substances, namely: soybean, sugar cane, coffee, corn, citrus and cotton; crops that together concentrate 75% of pesticides demand in Brazil. Then, are identified the major global exporters and importers of pesticides from Comtrade trade data and the main classes of use internationally traded, considering, for purposes of analysis, the 3808 code of the Mercosur Common Nomenclature (NCM) as a statistical category "pesticide". Brazilian exports and imports of pesticides are detailed on the country of origin and destination and class of use (herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, acaricides and pesticides).
