Comércio bilateral Brasil–China e o rebatimento no desempenho das transações externas da Região Nordeste

Abstract

This paper proposes to examine the specificities of the commercial exchanges between China and the Brazilian Northeast Region. In the context of a strong growth of China’s participation in world trade, the trade flow between the Brazilian Northeastern Region and China presents a substantial increase. The Northeast’s exports, during this period, have presented some cyclical disconcentration and reconcentration movements and the sales have presented the same movements in the inverse direction. When the commercial exchanges are ranked according to their technological intensity, it is shown increasing trade deficits with China in the sector medium high technological content, while the Region presents surpluses in the sectors of medium low and low technological content. The bilateral flow of trade between China and the Brazilian Northeastern Region predominantly favours intersectoral trade. Keywords: Foreign trade - Brazilian Northeast Region – China
