Abstract

The objective of this study is to present new indicators for the measurement of the public deficit and indicate the debt sustainability determinants during the period 1998-2007. At this respect, it is aimed at identifying the contribution of the different explanatory factors of the growth of the state debt: monetary correction ((IGP-DI - whole sale price index, IPCA (Consumer price index), interest payments capitalization, new loans and debt amortization, measured in terms of the net current revenue.
