O emprego formal na Região Metropolitana de Porto Alegre: algumas considerações sobre o período 1989-2007

Abstract

This article presents an overview of the formal labor market performance in the Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre (RMPA), comparing it with the behavior of the group of all other cities of Rio Grande do Sul, during the period 1989-2007, taking a data base of the Employment Ministry (RAIS) as data source. The principal results show that there are differences between the performance or RMPA and RS as whole and also in the behavior of the cities of RMPA.
