Notas sobre as altas taxas básicas de juros no Brasil

Abstract

This article addresses the problem of the high basic interest rates in Brazil. It analyses the evolution of theses rates along the existence of the current macroeconomics policies regime. It focuses on the circumstances that weaken the efficiency of the monetary policy such as the low financial intermediation and the difficulties to extend maturity of the public debt.
