Abstract
In this paper, the quality of the agricultural and non agricultural job is analyzed in the South region in the period 2002-2004. The study was based on the micro-data extracted from the research entitled “Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra de Domicílios (PNAD)” for the residents in the rural non metropolitan area. There were defined two groups of agricultural occupations (permanent workers and temporary workers) and five groups of non agricultural ones (manufacturing workers, building and construction, trade, lodging and transport, education and health, and domestic services). Independently from the different IQE compositions tested, concerning rural residents the results indicated a more favorable situation for non agricultural group of occupations, for most of the groups of selected occupations.
