- Resumo
- The current article aims at analysing the way the study of the category "land rent" was held by the main thinkers of the mairginalist/neoclassical period. It is a threefold article. The first part is devoted to S. Jevons' thought about the category "land rent", observing that Jevons actually completed the reaction to Ricardo defending the thesis that rent is effectively an element in the products cost In the second part the positions of the authors of the So-called neoclassical Austrian School, Menger and Bõhm-Bawerk, are examined. These authors' approach was markedly methodological, trying to set up a clear distinction between land and capital, more specifically between land rent and interest. In the last part the position of the founder of the neoclassical theory of value, A. Marshall, is analysed. His analysis is characterized as attempting to present land rent as a simple payment for the utilization of land with no proper feature, characterizing it as the main class in a wide onder of phenomena.
