- Abstract
- Abstract The central purpose of these notes is to examine how the changes that took place in the economic environment during the nineties have impacted on the industrial profile of Rio Grande do Sul. At the same time they try to evaluate if some peculiarities that established capital accumulation in the state are still valid as elements of an explanation of the directon and rithm of its process of growth. The analysis of available indicators seems to show the need that some current statements, such as the one that considers as a singularity of the state the fact that its productive structure is strongly based on small and middle firms, be revaluated or at least qualified.
