- Abstract
- This article of theoretical nature aims to reflect about the development governance issue, including, in this paper, the complexity of what is called sustainable development. It initiates based on the debate about the concepts of development and sustainability, articulating them in a local/global relation. At the same time, points the implicit risks in certain epistemological positions, that pursues to impose some specific development notion, qualified by Souza Santos (2005) as a "linear, monolitical and unequivocal" notion. For that, it's proposed an alternative model, which stands upon positions that recognize the "territory", with its specifities, as the base for a development's pattern, that can be thought as "sustainable".
