- Abstract
- This study aimed to analyze the issues related to the internationalization processes of transnational corporations and their effects on localities where they settle. The study deals with the genesis of corporative internationalization in the global scenario and the determinants which have intensified it; the issues related to global-local dilemma and its implications on the territories and communities where corporations have been established. The results indicate two important issues for future studies: the political and economic transition since the fragmentation of the Welfare State values (1990) and the affirmation of Neoliberal Capitalism principles (2000), as well as recent trend for sovereign national regimes, with strong democratic features (2010). The second issue relates to local forces present in the territories, whose economic, social, political, historical and cultural features have prevailed over the previews for homogenizing global.
