Abstract: ABSTRACT This article proposes to study, theoretically, the relation between the political power and the money used in its territory of domination, concentrating attention on the central authority strengthening process in the creation and social recognition of money and in the organization of the monetary system. On the strength of this relation, it is examined how the process of power accumulation produces the “internationalization” of money beyond the political-territorial boundary of whom created it.
