Abstract
ABSTRACT This article discusses the process of agroindustrialization of the production of family farming in North Gaucho. The objective is to analyse the so called agroindustry family of this place, since its historical process of emergence, constitution going through the aspects of production and income. The agroindustry family is understood as a strategy of social reproduction of family farming, which takes these farmers to "produce" novelties ("innovations") and add more value to their products. To develop this analysis, we use the Perspective Oriented Actors (POA), by Norman Long and the notion of production of novelty (novelty production), by Jan Douwe van der Ploeg and other authors. It is concluded that the agroindustry family is potencially a generator of many new novelties and that has a central role in the production of higher values-added and in the growth of income for rural families. Key words: Agroindustry family; production of novelties; adding value and rural development. Classificação JEL: Q, Q5, Q55 Artigo recebido em jun. 2010 e aceito para publicação em jun. 2011.
