DISPERSION OF LABOR EARNINGS BETWEEN THE METROPOLITAN AND NON METROPOLITAN REGIONS OF THE STATE OF PARANÁ

Abstract: This article aims to analyse the intra-regional dispersion of labor incomes in the urban areas at Metropolitan Region (MR) and Non Metropolitan (NMR) of the State of Paraná. It was applied the decomposition methodology of Oaxaca (1973), using the correction of Heckman (1979). It was concluded that there is an intra-regional dispersion that is favorable to labor earnings of the MR, and that 34,5% of this dispersion are due to the workers’ productive attributes. Besides, the regional return effect (regional salary bonus) was responsible for 65,5% of the dispersion.
