Abstract: The aim of this paper is to examine the patterns of interaction between agents of the agricultural machinery and implements Local Productive Arrangement in Rio Grande do Sul. At the core of that Local Productive Arrangement, one finds manufacturers of agricultural equipment and suppliers of machinery components. The Arrangement has a fairly heterogeneous structure, since it comprehends firms of various sizes, firms of national and foreign capital, and manufacturers of a diverse range of products, with varying levels of technological sophistication, some oriented towards the regional market, some to the national market, and still others to the international market. The manufacturing complex also comprises a number of other organizations, devoted to education, training, and research, and representations of class interests. One also finds various financial institutions.
