Padrão de mudança econômica das empresas químicas e petroquímicas mundiais

Abstract: The aim of this paper is to analyse the modifications of the worldwide chemical complex, emphasizing the restructuring as a microeconomic phenomenon that allows the obtainment of competitive advantage. The assumption is that the firms are seeking techniques and economics abilities in their principals business centers and to forsake their non-principals business centers. The productive dynamic of 11international big firms and the motion of the firms in different production chain were studied. The results show that patterns of change economic vary pursuant the productive chain that the firms are inserted. The results evidence also that some microeconomic phenomenon, as joint ventures, merger and acquisition allow to obtain competitive advantage in different market where the firms act and segments in which the firms concentrate.
