- Abstract
- This paper analyses the population movements in the territory of Rio Grande do Sul, the southernmost state of Brazil, during nineties. Focusing on migration and population mobility, it identifies which regions have lost and which have won population as a result of migration movements. It also shows the character of the historical and economic relations between the different areas. The conclusions of this work were drawn from the analysis of data collected in the Demographic Census of 2000.
