- Abstract
- This paper tries to expose the fundamental methodological issues in the origin of the Regulation Approach. The development of the Regulation Approach has its roots in a triple rupture: the end of the fordism regime of accumulation, the change in the left politics and the theoretical break with althusserism. The two fundamental issues for the Regulation Approach are how to think history as a no-teleological process and how to theorize the relationship between agency and structure. Agency and structure are two aspects of the social practice in the Regulation Approach and history is a sequence of chance discoveries.
