- Abstract
- This article presents a discussion on method in economics. It starts from the notion of scientific explanation developed by analytical philosophy, then goes on to present the laws of motion of economic life and the particular way economic phenomena have an appearence sharply different from inner relations that are the real cause of them. As a genuine heir of the Marxian tradition, the Regulation approach is viewed as a theoretical milestone in the comprehension of human behavior which makes possible the existence of socio-economic structures. The paper ends with a brief presentation of the main regulationist thesis.
