- This article aims to test the use of a chosen methodology of wage differentials calculation between public and private sectors searching the answer to a main question: does the brazilian public sector pay higher wages to its workers than the private sector? If true, at what percentage and why? Based on the hypothesis that wage differentials do in fact exist and that they are high, the author tries to measure them with the help of several revelant variables, in order to distinguish the wage differentials derived from differentiated labor structures and those resulted from the application of distinguished wage-policies in each sector.
