Methodological aspects in development theory, or the concrect reality regional development

Abstract

The present article argues the methodologycal importance of a philosofical concept — the totality — for the development phenomenon comphreension. Its necessary to refuse the totality as a transcendental concept, and built a concrete meanning based in solidarity (objective and inter-subjective, resulted of consensus and conflict, stability and disequilibrium) between social citizens that produce their lives (things, values, relations, symbols, institutions) in determined time and place. We argue that the theorectical efforts of institucionalists and evolucionaries around the renewal of the explanation of the human action mixing individual and social and surpassing the restricted “rational choice”, are wellcome to the development economy, particularly that one centered in the understanding of specific phenomena of this (Hirschman and others). We will see that the real totality is regional and dynamic.
