Varieties of, in and on Capitalism

Abstract

This article provides a critical review of the extensive literature on Varieties of Capitalism and seeks to situate it regarding the role of institutions, political determinants and space in each of the approaches. We argue that spatial manifestations that are constitutive of capitalism are more complex than the VoC mainstream approach assumes. To this end, we propose a promising dialogue of Varieties of Capitalism with the recent debate on neoliberalization processes in Economic Geography.
