History matters: proposed framework for the study of path-dependence

Abstract

This study has the objective of elaborating a multilevel, interdisciplinary and systemic analytical structure that can be used for the study of path-dependent processes. For such purpose, a bibliographical research was used. The analytical structure follow this steps: a) construction of the historical trajectory that would lead to the observed fact; b) identification of previous conditions, general laws and other elements of the conjuncture; c) identification of the critical moments that lead to choices that make emerge a dependent trajectory; d) identification of critical moments; e) observation of the formation of institutional and structural elements that contribute for the conditioning of the trajectory; f) identification of the reactive sequences; g) description of the final results observed through the solution of conflicts occurred in the phase of reactive sequences.
