Factors of growth and structural changes in the economy of Rio Grande do Sul, 1998-2003

Abstract

This paper aims to identify the growth factors of the Rio Grande do Sul’s economy in the period 1998-2003. These factors are decomposed in final demand effects, technological effects and the interaction between them. In addition to these aggregate factors, they are calculated by final demand component and by economic activity sector. Key words: economic growth; technological changes; structural changes.
