The extremely competitive international economic environment creates incitement for firms to slice apart their value chains into bare functions and then integrate them on a world basis, both to seize growing markets opportunities and local specific advantages. By outsourcing manufacturing functions to specialized suppliers, firms can concentrate their sources in product.s innovation while the contractors develop skills which allow them to gain importance in local production networks. This paper points up some factors to analyze the Brazilian role within this model of industrial organization in face of both Eastern Asia and Eastern Europe cases.Downloads
