Reforma do Estado e desregulamentação do trabalho no Brasil, nos anos 90

Abstract

During the last decade (1990), several institutions went through important reforms in Brazil. This paper describes the most important changes in the regulation of the Brazilian labor market, all of them related to the conditions of use, remuneration, protection and collective negotiation of work. The main conclusion is that all those changes are intended to produce two effects: first, to make the relations of work more flexible, in order to reduce the enterprises costs; second, to make the labor legislation similar to the new pattern of labor regulation throughout the world.
