Abstract

From the nature of regulation brought forward by the price system and the market, we define two universes: first, the mainstream, characterized by the agents' substantive rationality and, second, the heterodox, which stresses the capitalist system s instability due to uncertainty diferent disequilibria and lack of marker regulation. The role and nature of institutions are analysed within the scope an heterodox approach.
