Abstract

The paper reviews and organizes the now vast literature on cooperation and civic participation with the aim of assessing new forms of regional development. Based on the theoretical concepts of the recent contributions in the economic and social fields, the paper shows alternative Instruments of policies and presents new perspectives of public action in order to reach a democratic and decentralized economic development.
