Refletindo sobre elites

Abstract

In this paper the author recovers the classical meaning of elite, distinguishing three application spheres of the concept: origin elite, position elite, and work elite, analyzed in the context of modern democratic societies. The role of the work elite, essentially innovatory, is emphasized in the frame of growing economic and ecological limits, which propose once more the notion of humanly acceptable development.
