As controvérsias monetárias do século XIX

Abstract

The paper examines the XIX century monetary controversies: bullionists versus anti-bullionists and currency versus banking school, using as the guiding lines the quantitative theory of money and the relationship between the real side and the monetary side of the economy, separating the ortodox and heterodox aspects of the ideas.
