Abstract

This paper describes and discusses the Flexible Specialization model (EF) as presented by Piore & Sabel It focuses on the central role of the networks of firms and the colletive effíciencies brought by their functioning, emphasizing the role played by the small firms and distinguishing the EF model from the mass production model.
