Resumo

This work aims at exploring the forces that shaped the ideology of biotechnology in its beginning. Next, the author assesse the notion of the revolutionary character of agricultural biotechnology. He concludes with a discussion of some of the future implications of the ideological transition of agricultural biotechnology.
